Frequently Asked Questions

Why is your business called "Beehive"? You don't keep bees.
True, we don't keep bees. But beehives are places of industry, and homes to hard workers. We feel like busy bees most of the time!

What is pewter?
Pewter is an alloy of tin, antimony, and copper.

Wait - I though pewter had lead in it?
Early pewter was made with some lead, which gave it the traditional gray color. Contemporary pewter used for serving pieces and baby items is alloyed without lead for safety.

Are these measuring spoons accurate?
Yes. We calibrate our spoons to measure accurately to U.S. standards.

Are your spoons safe for babies?
Yes. Every production run we make is tested by a certified, third party laboratory to ensure the quality and safety outlined by the Consumer Safety Protection Commission.

Do you replace missing spoons?
Yes, contact us with the size and style of your spoon, and we can replace it. Prices range from $8.50 - $23. Don’t worry, you aren’t the only one that put a spoon down the disposal.

Can you do custom work?
Yes - it’s a lot of fun! Depending on the complexity of the item, minimum runs are generally 200 pcs. However, many of our products may be customized with your name, logo, or unique message with little to no minimums. Contact us at info@beehivehandmade to talk about your project.

Do you have a store?
Well, yes and no. We recently purchased a building to be our studio and store, but have had to put being open to the public due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Can you gift wrap my purchase?
Most of our products can be gift wrapped for a small additional cost, but not all. Some products do not fit in a gift box (but they're still super cool), so those items are not available to be gift wrapped.
